Therapeutic and gaming set Aist-PIK on a USB flash drive
Therapeutic and gaming set "Aist-PIK" is designed to train and restore disorders of binocular (including stereoscopic) and monocular vision (with strabismus and amblyopia), prevent these disorders in healthy people, and also as an educational game to stimulate sensory-motor mechanisms and improve coordination and logical thinking in preschool and school-age children.
It is used at home, in medical and specialized children's institutions.
The principle of the therapeutic effect of the product is based on the division of the fields of vision with colored glasses-light filters. Additional stimulation of the visual analyzer is achieved by flickering game objects on the monitor screen. The colors of the game objects correspond to the colors of the glasses' light filters, while objects visible to one eye are invisible to the other. Therefore, solving the game problem is possible only with simultaneous discrimination of all game objects, which includes both eyes of the patient in the game process, training and restoring frequency. The soundtrack of the game, as well as the use of the PC keyboard, include additional motor-sensory functional capabilities of the patient in the training process, increasing the effectiveness of the exercise technique.
When treating amblyopia, glasses - light filters are not needed. If necessary, the patient uses glasses that correct existing refractive anomalies (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism). In this case, the well-seeing eye should be closed (direct constant occlusion) for the entire period of treatment. The improvement of visual acuity is monitored by the ophthalmologist observing the patient. When visual acuity is achieved, sufficient for training binocular vision (the patient in glasses - light filters should distinguish all objects of the game with each eye), with a symmetrical position of the eyes, glasses - light filters are used, both eyes are open. The existing difference in visual acuity is equalized by the method of "penalization" (special optical correction prescribed by an ophthalmologist) or "fogging" using a thin polyethylene film or soap, which is applied to the glass of corrective glasses corresponding to the better-seeing eye (a polyethylene film moistened with water is easily fixed on the glass of corrective glasses). The degree of "fogging" is determined visually, and the patient must be able to clearly distinguish all objects of the game with both eyes.
Clinical trials conducted in leading medical institutions of the Republic of Belarus have shown the high efficiency of the method (after 10 treatment sessions, visual acuity in amblyopia increased by an average of 0.11±0.01; fusion reserves expanded by an average of 6.5±0.73 prism diopters).
Attention: The recommended time of one game session for preschool children (3-6 years) is no more than 10 minutes, for schoolchildren no more than 15 minutes.
